KÜRESEL FİNANSAL KRİZİN GEMİ FİNANSMANINA ETKİLERİ

Abstract

ABDde başlayan finansman krizi, kısa sürede küresel çapta etkisini göstermiştir. Finansal krizle birlikte, dünya ticaretini etkileyen oldukça önemli değişiklikler meydana gelmiştir. Kriz tüm dünya farklı sektörler ve bölgelerde değişik şekillerde, az veya çok etkisini göstermiştir. Denizcilik sektörüne kredi veren bankaların büyük çoğunluğunun Avrupa menşeli olması ve bu krizden doğrudan etkilenen aktörler konumunda olmaları nedeniyle, sermaye yoğun bir sektör olan denizcilik sektörü de krizden oldukça etkilenmiştir. Kriz öncesi müreffeh zamanda birçok armatör iyi planlanmamış ve maliyeti yüksek kredi veya finansmanla gemi sipariş etmiştir. Taksitlerin ödenme zamanı geldiğinde ise navlun fiyatlarındaki düşüş ve taşıma sayısındaki azalma nedeniyle, yeterli özkaynağı olmayan armatörler taahhütlerini yerine getirememiş, oldukça güç duruma düşmüşlerdir. Bu likidite sıkışıklığı nedeniyle, nakit baskısı altında kalan bazı denizcilik firmaları, gemilerin tesliminde gecikmelere ve sipariş iptallerine neden olmuştur.

Starting f inancial crisis in the USA had an impact on a global scale in a short time. World trade eff ecting signif icant changes have occurred with the arising f inancial crisis. This crisis had shown more or less its diff erent impact over the world in diff erent ways. The most of the given credit to the maritime industry had resulted f rom the vast maj ority of European origin Banks, which were the primary actors aff ected directly by the world f inancial crisis, and due to that consequence the maritime industry, which is a capital-intensive industry had been heavily inf luenced by the f inancial crisis. In the pre-crisis prosperous time, many owners ordered the ship well not planned and with the high cost of credit or lease f inancing. When it comes the time f or payment of instalments, the owners, which did not have enough equity f or the Liability on their commitments, f ell into a very diff icult f inancial situation, due to the decrease in the amount of f reight and f all of trans- port prices. By the reason of this liquidity crunch, shipping companies, which remain under the pressure of cash have caused delays on delivery of the ordered ships or even ship order cancellations.
