VİCDANIN İMKÂNI

Abstract

İnsanın karşılaştığı ahlâki ikilemlerde ne türden eylemler gerçekleştireceğinin önceden belirlenmesini amaçlayan "modern" bir pratik vardır. Bu pratiğin sonuçlarından biri, ahlâkın temelinde bulunan vicdanın özerkliğini tehlikeye atmasıdır. İnsanın ahlâkiliğinin, onun "söz veren" ve "verdiği sözü tutan" bir varlık olarak konumlandırılmasıyla doğrudan ilişkilendirilmesi, bu alandaki temel değerlendirme konularından birisini oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, insanın, önceden "tahmin edilebilir", "güvenli" ve "güvence" altına alınmış bir varlığa dönüştürülmeye çalışılmasına yönelik çeşitli çabalarda, ahlâkiliğin de bu bakımdan önceden bilinebilen ve belirlenebilen bir vicdan ile sağlanabileceği anlayışı değerlendirmelerin merkezinde bulunmaktadır. Burada, çalışmanın temel sorusu da şimdiden sorulabilir: Belirli bir ahlâk öğretisi etrafında şekillenmiş bir vicdan, belli bir anlayışın vicdanı olması bakımından, bizi yanıltıyor olabilir mi? Bu uyarı takip edilerek, ahlâkiliğin imkânının, insanın vicdani kararlarının önceden kesinkes belli, belirli ve güvenilir olmasıyla değil, "güvenilmez"liğiyle ve bu bakımdan da "özerk"liğiyle sağlanabileceğinin hatırlanmasına yönelik bir çıkış yolu aranacaktır.

There exists a "modern" practice that aims to predict the nature of behaviours of a person that faces a moral dilemma. One of the consequences of this practice is jeopardising the objectivity and independency of the conscience which resides in the foundation of morality. The fact that the morality of an individual to be directly associated with him being an entity that "promises" and "keeps the promises that one gives" forms one of the fundamental subjects of assessment. The thesis of this study is that; in the various efforts for the transformation of an individual into a "predictable", "safe" and "secured" entity, the morality can be achieved with a conscience that can be known and determined in advance in such manner. At this point, the main question of this inquiry can also be asked; is it possible for a conscience, that has been shaped with a specific moral teaching, to mislead us, in the conditions of it being a conscience of a specific understanding? By following this idea, the way out from the perception of the morality to be defined by the conscientious decisions of one to be strictly certain, specific and reliable, will be searched with the understanding of conscience being unreliable and therefore objective and independent
