Öğrenci görüşlerine göre ilköğretim ve ortaöğretim öğretmenlerinin sınıf yönetimi ilkelerine uyma düzeyleri

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, ilk ve ortaöğretim okullarında çalışan öğretmenlerin sınıf yönetimi ilkelerine uyma düzeylerini belirlemektir. Araştırmada, tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2010-2011 eğitim öğretim yılında İstanbul ili Maltepe İlçesinde bulunan ve seçkisiz olarak belirlenen üç ilköğretim okulunun 6, 7 ve 8. sınıflarında eğitim öğretim gören öğrenciler ile üç ortaöğretim okulunun 9, 10, 11 ve 12. sınıflarında eğitim öğretim gören 586 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Ölçekle elde edilen veriler yüzde, frekans, ortalama, t testi ile çözümlenmiştir. Öğrenci görüşlerine göre, öğretmenlerin sınıf yönetimi ilkelerine genel olarak “orta” düzeyde uydukları görülmüştür. Öğretmenlerden sınıf yönetimi ilkelerine çoğunlukla uymaları beklenirken, bu ilkelere orta düzeyde uymuşlardır. Öğrenci görüşleri arasında okul türü değişkenine göre anlamlı farklılıklar bulunurken, cinsiyet değişkenine göre anlamlı farklılıklar bulunamamıştır. Öğretmenler, hizmet öncesi ve hizmet içi eğitim yoluyla, sınıf yönetimi ilkeleri ve bu ilkelere uygun davranışta bulunma konusunda yeterli hale getirilmelidirler.

Main purpose of this study is to determine the level of secondary and high school teachers' conformity with classroom management principles. In this study, descriptive statistical method was used. The working group was consisted of 586 students chosen randomly from the 6th, 7th and 8th grade at 3 secondary schools and 9th, 10th, and 11th, 12th grade at 3 high schools in Maltepe Township in İstanbul. The data were analyzed with percentage, frequency, arithmetic means and t-test. According to students' views, teachers comply with classroom management principles at “moderate” level. Although they are expected to conform with classroom management principles fully, it was found out that they conformed to them at moderate level. While there was significant difference in “school” variable, no difference was found in “gender” variable. It is recommended that teachers should be made more proficient in applying classroom management principles by means of in-service training and pre-service education.
