Destinasyonda Yaşayan Yerel Halkın Turistler Hakkındaki Algılarının Belirlenmesine Yönelik Bir Araştırma: Göbeklitepe Örneği

Abstract

Turistik destinasyonlarla ilgili akademik çalışmalar çoğunlukla turistlerin bakış açılarıyla destinasyonlardaki farklı değişkenlerin ve boyutlarındeğerlendirilmesi perspektifinden yürütülmektedir. Ancak ilgili alanyazında destinasyonlarda sürekli ikâmet eden yerel halkın bakış açısıyladestinasyonlarına gelen turistleri değerlendirdikleri çalışmalar ise oldukça sınırlıdır. Bu çalışmada destinasyonlarda yaşayan yerel halkındestinasyonlarını ziyaret eden turistleri algı düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu kapsamda Göbeklitepe destinasyonu ve çevresinde ikâmeteden, doğrudan veya dolaylı olarak turistik faaliyetlere katılan 450 yerel halktan katılımcıya 20 Ocak-4 Şubat 2020 döneminde yüz yüze iletişimkurularak anket formları ulaştırılmıştır. Anketlerden elde edilen veriler (420 anket) sosyal bilimler araştırmalarında yaygın bir biçimde kullanılanSPSS programında analize tabi tutulmuştur. Yapılan analizler sonucunda katılımcıların çoğunluğunun turizmi destinasyonları için yararlı (%87)gördükleri ve destinasyonlarına gelen turistleri olumlu algıladıkları (%82) belirlenmiştir. Katılımcıların çok az bir kısmının ise turizmi destinasyonlarıiçin zararlı (%13) gördükleri ve destinasyonlarına gelen turistleri olumsuz algıladıkları (%18) tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca destinasyonda yaşayan yerelhalkın destinasyonlarına gelen turistleri; turist destinasyon uyumluğu, turistlerin destinasyona ekonomik katkıları, turistlerin destinasyona karşısorumlulukları, turistlerin destinasyona olumlu katkıları ve turistlerin destinasyona olumsuz etkileri boyutlarında değerlendirdikleri belirlenmiştir.

Academic studies on touristic destinations are mostly carried out from the perspective of evaluating different variables and dimensions in the destinations from the viewpoints of tourists. However, the studies in which the local people, who constantly reside in the destinations, evaluate the tourists who come to their destinations from their own point of view, are quite limited. In this study, it is aimed to determine the levels of the perceptions of the local people living in the destination about the tourists who visited that destination. In this context, questionnaire forms were delivered to 450 participants among the local people who lived in Göbeklitepe destination and its surroundings and who participated directly or indirectly in touristic activities, in the period of 20 January-5 February 2020 by face to face communication. The data obtained from the questionnaires (420 questionnaires) were analyzed by use of the SPSS program, which is widely used in social sciences researches. As a result of the analyzes, it was determined that the majority of the participants considered the tourism to be useful for their destination (87%) and perceived the tourists coming to their destination positively (82%). It was determined that a few of the participants considered tourism harmful for their destination (13%) and perceived the tourists coming to their destination negatively (18%). In addition, it was determined that the local people living in the destination evaluated the tourists coming to their destination in terms of the dimensions of tourist-destination compatibility, economic contributions of tourists to destination, responsibilities of tourists to destination, positive contributions of tourists to destination and negative effects of tourists on destination.
