Eserin tam adı, Fransızcada Guide en trois langues: Française, Anglaise et Turque’tür; İngilizcedeGuide in three languages: French, English and Turkish’tir; Osmanlı Türkçesinde Rehber-i elsine-yiselâse: Fransevî ve İngilizî ve Türkî’dir. Müellif Nassif Mallouf’tur. Mallouf, doğu dilleri profesörü,Londra ve Paris Asya Araştırmaları Topluluğu üyesidir. Eser 1860 yılında yayımlanmış olup gramerve sözlük değil, bir rehber kitaptır. Dil öğrenmede rehber kitaplar pratik kullanımlar için önemlidir.En sık kullanılan kelimeleri barındırır. Gramer ve sözlük kullanmak yerine daha kolay ve faydalıdiyaloglar sunulmuştur. Diyaloglarda kelime ve cümle beraber yer alır. Böylece öğrenmek yerinde vekolay olur. Transkripsiyon metinlerinin yazılma amaçlarından biri misyonerlere Türkçeyi kolaycaöğretmektir. Bu rehber kitap da aynı amacı gütmektedir. Zaten Mallouf da Lübnan asıllı birHristiyandır ve İzmir Propaganda Okulu’nda öğretmenlik yapmıştır. Eser, başta XXIV sayfalık ilkbölüm, 200 sayfalık diyaloglar bölümü, son iki sayfada Osmanlı Devleti’nde kullanılan ağırlık, parave ölçü birimlerini içerir. Eserin sunumunda, sayfanın solunda Fransızca, sayfanın sağında İngilizce,bir sonraki sayfanın solunda Osmanlı Türkçesi, sayfanın sağında transkripsiyon harfli metin bulunur.

The full name of the work in French is Guide en trois langues: Française, Anglaise et Turque; In English, French, English and Turkish; Rehber-i elsine-yi selâse in Ottoman Turkish: French and English and Turkish. The author is Nassif Mallouf. Mallouf is a professor of Oriental languages and a member of the Asian Studies Society in London and Paris. The work was published in 1860 and is not grammar and dictionary, is a guidebook. Guidance books are important for practical uses in language learning. Contains the most commonly used words. Instead of using grammar and dictionary, easier and more useful dialogs are presented. In dialogues, words and sentences take place together. This makes it easy to learn. One of the aims of writing transcription texts is to teach Turkish to missionaries easily. This guidebook has the same purpose. Already Mallouf is a Lebanese Christian and taught at the Izmir Propaganda School. The work includes the first section of the XXIV page, the section of 200 pages of dialogue, and the weight, currency and measurement units used in the Ottoman Empire in the last two pages. In the presentation of the work, there is French text on the left of the page, English on the right of the page, Ottoman Turkish on the left of the next page, and transcription letter on the right of the page.
