ÖĞRENCİLERİN GÖZÜYLE SEKRETERLİK MESLEĞİNE GENEL BAKIŞ

Abstract

Secretaryship, which does not seem as a hard job at first glance, and which is perceived as a profession doable by everybody, is a job that requires more personal skills than other professions besides vocational training. Despite this fact, secretaryship has not got the value it deserves in the eyes of the society, families, and even the students of the profession itself. This study aims to survey the reasons why Secretaryship Program students have chosen this program, what their perceptions of the program are, what their expectations are from the program, and their carrer planning. In two vocational schools, 470 students were given questionnaires for this purpose, and 408 students completed the questionnaires, and the results were analyzed. Moreover, face-toface interviews with students were also included in the study. Especially during the face-to-face interviews, it was observed that students did not really know about the Secretaryship Program, they had not chosen the program willingly, they used the program as a step for lateral transfer to other programs, and almost all of them underestimated the program

İlk bakışta çok da zor görünmeyen ve hemen herkesin başarabileceği bir meslekmiş gibi algılanan “sekreterlik”, mesleki eğitimin yanı sıra, diğer mesleklerde olduğundan daha fazla, yüksek kişisel becerilere gereksinim duyan bir meslektir. Buna karşın, toplumun, ailelerin ve hatta sekreterlik eğitimi almakta olan öğrencilerin gözünde hak ettiği yeri alamamış bir meslektir. Bu çalışmada, sekreterlik programı öğrencilerinin bu programı seçme nedenlerinin, mesleğe bakışlarının ve bu meslekten beklentilerinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. İki MYO da toplam 470 öğrenciye anket uygulaması yapılmış,408 anket tamamlanmış ve sonuçları değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca, öğrencilerle yapılan yüz yüze görüşmelerden çıkartılan sonuçlar da çalışmada yer almıştır. Özellikle yüz yüze görüşmeler sırasında, öğrencilerin sekreterlik mesleğini tanımadıkları, programı isteyerek seçmedikleri, başka programlara yatay geçiş için bir basamak olarak kullandıkları ve hemen hepsinin mesleği hafife aldığı izlenimi edinilmiştir
