CONTROL METHODS OF THE VSC-HVDC CONNECTED OFFSHORE WIND POWER PLANTS FOR FULFILLING; LVRT AND FREQUENCY REGULATION SUPPORT
Abstract
Grid integration ofoffshore wind farms could seriously impact the operation and stability of theirinterconnected power system. To assist in maintaining the power systemstability when large disturbances occur in the grid, modern offshore wind farmsconsisting of variable-speed wind turbines are required to provide ancillaryservices such as voltage and frequency control. The focus is given on thecontrol methods of the VSC-HVDC connected offshore wind power plants forful?lling the grid code requirements; LVRT and frequency regulation support.
