Ahmet Hamdi TANPINAR’ ın makale ve denemelerinde inşa ettiği roman: Huzur

Abstract

Çok yönlü bir sanat ve düşünce adamı olan Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar’ın metinleri arasında yapılacak bir mukayese, şüphesiz onun düşünce dünya- sının kendi kaleminden verilmesi anlamına gelir. “Huzu”r’u, deneme, makale ve söyleşileriyle karşılaştırdığımızda oldukça şaşırtıcı benzerlikler bulduk. Bunlar bazen birebir ifadeler olduğu gibi, yorum düzeyindeki benzerliklerden de ibarettir. Hem Huzur’da hem de söz konusu metinlerde İstanbul, musiki, mimari gibi konuların yanında “aydının topluma karşı mesuliyet sahibi olması, ülkenin ihtiyacı olan İktisadi kalkınmanın nasıl olması gerektiği ile ilgili tezler işlenmiştir. Musiki ve mimariyi mazi ile bağımızı kuran en önemli unsurlar olarak gören Tanpınar; milli özellik- lerin, Türk ruhunun bu sanatlarda gizli olduğunu düşünür. İstanbul’un bu anlamda bir terkip olduğunu da ileri süren Tanpınar, Tanzimattan bu yana süren kültür ikiliğini aşmanın bir yolu olarak kendi hayat şekilleri- mizi yaratmamız gerektiğini söylemiş ve bunu “devam ederek değişmek, değişerek devam etmek” olarak formüle etmiştir.

Ahmed Hamdi Tanpınar is known as a poet, essayist, critic, scientist, aesthete but mostly as the novelist of the Huzur. In order to able to penetrate and grasp his intellectual identity, an intercontextual examination within the scope of his writings is obviously needed..Such a comparative textual analyses between Huzur and with the rest of his works proved that there are strike analogies between them. Those anologies sometimes appear clearly word by word, and sometimes they need interpretations. In his works including Huzur, Tanpınar often dealt with issues like Istanbul, music, architecture, the responsibility of intellectuals to his people as well as the economic development which was urgently needed by his country. According to Tanpınar music and architecture establish a connection between past and future and they contain the genuine spirit and national character of Turkish people. In this context, Istanbul was regarded as a synthesis by the thinker. He defends the idea of creating our own unique ways of life in order to overcome the cultural duality which has prevailed since the Tanzimat reforms started. This idea found its expression with the following words: “ continuing with the change, changing in the continuation.”
