The main purpose of this study is to report the results of a study of managerial and leadership effectiveness carried out within Turkish public sector hospitals. 'Effective' and 'least effective/ineffective' manager and managerial leader behavior, as observed by managerial and non-managerial employees were collected using the critical incident technique. These critical incidents were then content analyzed to identify a smaller number of discrete behavioral statements and criteria of effectiveness. (C) 2013 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd. Personality traits of individuals are one of the important variables that affect their thinking structures and behaviors. Personality traits are genetically formed. However, socialization and education affect the personality characteristics of individuals. Therefore, many studies have been done on collecting information, evaluating this information and making decisions. However, studies that reveal the effect of personality traits on financial decisions are much newer and few. In this study, the effect of financial risk perception was investigated based on cognitive style personality traits and Myers-Briggs style personality dimensions. Also, the effect of both objective and subjective financial literacy on this relationship is examined This study with this dimension has unique feature. As a result of the analysis, individuals with systematic style have a higher risk request at statistically significant level than individuals with other styles. In addition, it has been found that individuals of all styles and dimensions evaluate subjective financial literacy levels about %60 more than real financial literacy levels. This study aimed to investigate the impact of virtual chemistry laboratory instruction on pre-service science teachers' scientific process skills. For this purpose, eight laboratory activities related to chemical kinetic, chemical equilibrium, thermochemistry, acids-bases, and electrochemistry were developed. Those activities were performed in virtual laboratory environment by the pre-service teachers in the experimental group and in the real laboratory environment by c the pre-service teachers in the control group during eight weeks. Scientific process skills test developed by Burns, Okey and Wise [3], and translated into Turkish by Ates and Bahar [2] was used before and after the instructions for data collection. According to results, while there was no significant difference between pre-test mean scores (U=133.500, p>0.05), significant difference between post-test mean scores was found in favour of experimental group (U= 76.000, p<0.05). In addition, while no significant difference between pre-test mean scores for each sub-dimension was found, significant difference between post-test mean scores for designing investigation and formulating hypothesis skills was found in favour of experimental group.
